Golden Bear Alarm Services was founded in 1980 by former Yuba County Sheriff Deputy Bud Cozine along with his wife Carolyn Cozine. Together, they wanted to start something that involved keeping the community safe. As a locally owned company, we eat at the same restaurants, shop at the same stores and attend the same community events as our customers. Reputation and trust are key for us, and word of mouth is one of our biggest blessings. Robert Cozine

Robert attended Marysville High School and Yuba College. After getting his education, Robert Began working for the family company in 1982. Robert is married with two children, and he enjoys football, baseball and fishing. Roberts favorite part about working at Golden Bear is having his family involved and meeting our clients.

Dixie Cozine

Dixie attended Marysville High School, where she met her future husband Robert. She began working at Golden Bear in 1988. She enjoys working out and spending time with family. She served on the Yuba County Planning Commision and she also enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering for various organizations.

Trevor Cozine

Trevor is the 3rd-generation family member that has worked for the company since 2006. He enjoys spending time with his wife Sadie and son Carter. Trevor graduated from Marysville High School in 2008 and has since went on to help coach baseball at MHS. He enjoys watching baseball, college football and UFC fights in his spare time. He is a huge San Francisco Giants and California Golden Bears fan.

Sadie Cozine

Sadie has been working at Golden Bear Alarms since 2013. She is a 2009 graduate of Yuba City High School. After graduating, she attended Yuba College. Sadie worked for MJUSD for four years. She enjoys spending time with her husband Trevor, son Carter and their dog Chesney. Her favorite vacation spots are Pismo Beach, CA and New York City.

Kevin Smoot

Kevin Smoot has been with Golden Bear Alarms for five years. He loves spending time with his family. He enjoys working for Golden Bear and he looks forward to servicing our existing and future clients!

What if I have no phone line at the location I want the alarm installed?

No phone line, no problem. We can install a cellular communicator to monitor the location wirelessly.

Is there a term on the contract, and if so, how long?

There is a term on the contract, and it is two years. If the customer need to stop service within the two years, they can either cancel service and pay off the remainder of the contract, or move the system to new location.

What if my power goes out or my alarm is unplugged?

All of our security systems have backup batteries. The life of those batteries depends on how long the battery has been in the system. New batteries last longer, older ones not as long.

Can I control my alarm from my smartphone?

Yes, this is something that we give our customers the ability to do if they choose to. It allows you to arm or disarm the system, look at history of the system, view indoor cams if you have purchased them, and much more.

Will my pets trip the motion sensors?

Large pets can trip motion sensors. There are special sensors you can purchase that are more pet-friendly.

I have an existing system. Can you guys use the equipment, or do I need a whole new system?

We will send a member of our sales team to come out and have a look to see if the system you have is programmable or not. Some are, some are not.

How long does it take get installed and how long does the actual install take?

From the time we get paperwork signed, we are usually a week away from install. We can be flexible with that time frame. For the install itself, the time varies depending on the size of the system. For a Basic Wireless install (3 Doors, 1 Motion Sensor) it takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
